Membership

Active membership in TAMCAR is open to any Municipal Clerk or Recorder, Deputy Clerk or Recorder, or any person who performs the duty and functions of the municipal clerk or recorder for a Tennessee town or city. >Membership Application Form

Any staff member of a municipal clerk or recorder’s office other than the deputy or assistant clerk or recorder, as well as any other municipal record keeper or interested business representative, is eligible for associate membership.  

TAMCAR offers a retiree membership to any individual who has been an active member of TAMCAR but who has retired from their duties and functions as a municipal clerk or recorder in Tennessee.

Scholarships are offered for participation in the Certified Municipal Clerks Institute and Master Municipal Clerk Academy that are coordinated by and conducted under the guidance of Institute Director Dana Deem of the Municipal Technical Advisory Service,

The annual business meeting of the Tennessee Association of Municipal
Clerks and Recorders occurs each Fall, at which time the Clerk of the Year and the Distinguished Service Award are announced by the President.
